Craft beer + fine wine, to the sound of live music and taste of good meat. Previously known as &Union, this German jol is one of the most popular bars on Bree Street. Stocking only the delicious Brewers & Union beer and serving all types of meaty dishes, you will definitely get your fix of Bavaria for the night.
The self-service bar is über quick, and the setting is so social, that if you’re a local, you are destined to bump into someone you know and if you’re not, it won’t be long until you’ve chatted up some new friends over a bucket of beer.
Classics on the menu include the “Bree Street Burger”, the “Pulled Pork Sandwich” and the “Sausage Fest”. But be sure not to miss out on the occasional festive Saturdays when the serious foodie and owner, Jason Lilley (from Jason’s Bakery), get behind the apron for one of his legendary spit-braais.
On the “wein” side of things, there’s unique selection of local wines, either exclusively made for W+B or only available to purchase at the actual farm. Worth checking out are also the wine tastings they do on a regular basis, you’ll find yourself trying out some exceptional bottles of rare varietals.
“Live music and beer go together like hand a glove”, so you will always find a line up of some of the best local musicians playing unplugged gigs (Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday). No matter if it’s for after-work drinks, a casual meal or a bender of a night out, there’s always a good excuse to hang at Weinhaus + Biergarten.
